Berlin Cathedral – Public Domain Pictures of the largest church in Berlin – The Berlin Cathedral. Built from 1894 to 1905, heavily damaged during the Second World War and reconstructed in the 1970s. One of Museum Island’s main landmarks. The cathedral is one of the most important protestant churches in Germany. Its striking facade, as well as the crypts, organ, and huge domed roof make the Berlin Cathedral (Berliner Dom) an attractive place to visit when in Berlin.
The Hohenzollern crypt beneath the Berlin Cathedral is the most important dynasties crypt in Germany, members of the House of Hohenzollern are laid to rest. The Berlin Cathedral is one of the crowd pullers in Berlin and is worth seeing for its sacral architecture and art.
